The Boykin Spaniel

The Best Hunting Dog you have never heard of!!

First and foremost, I will always hunt with Brittanys, and we are planning on continuing the incredible brittany bloodlines we have.

I always hunt upland game with some type of retrieving dog.  That retriever role has been filled for the past 13 years by my ever-present companion Gauge, my yellow lab. Gauge is now retired.  I spend over 300 days a year in the outdoors between hunting and wildlife biologist field work. I need a dog that can do it all; find, flush, and retrieve downed birds, swim across rivers, locate a mule deer GPS collar, all while fitting in any vehicle (truck, UTV, canoe). Enter a relatively unknown little brown dog from South Carolina, the Boykin Spaniel. These tiny little dynamos do it all! They are more attune to me than any dog I have ever owned. They are exceptionally intelligent, willing to please, and hyper-aware of you and your intentions. We have fallen in love with these tiny dogs. They are more common in the Southeastern states like the Carolinas, but fairly rare in the west. Because of that, we wanted to start breeding Boykin spaniels so we could share these dogs with others here in the west.

See our "Puppies" tab for information on upcoming litters.

Grouse Loving Lola:

Lola is an athletic ball of happiness, always up for any adventure, whether hunting, peak bagging or waterwork. She is the most intelligent dog I have ever been around. Lola loves kids and snuggling on the couch. She is 14" tall and weighs 24 pounds with a flat dark chocolate colored coat.

Grouse Flushing Silver Hatchet:

Hatchet is a mellow, get the job done dog. No fuss, no problems, he is as dependable as the sun rising in the east. Hatchet goes everywhere I do and helps me with every task. He is a natural hunter and retriever. The kids love to give him huge hugs and he loves it too! He is 15" tall and weighs 29 pounds with a curly liver-colored coat.
