Grouse Running Gold Trigger

Trigger is our main Sire, and epitomizes our stringent breeding philosophy.  He is intelligent, eager to learn and please, has an amazing sense of smell and excellent bird finding ability.  He has an athletic and lean build.  Trigger is stunning to look at and also stunning to watch in the field.  He comes from the famed "Dave Walker Plantation".  From first glance you can easily tell that Trigger has an excellent pedigree with multiple National Champions. Trigger has a very natural point, and is a natural retriever.  He is mostly a brilliant white with bright orange.  To our advantage,  this makes him an easy find while hunting in the open country.

As a puppy, Trigger was adventurous, energetic, and sociable.   We knew his superior intelligence would continue to bloom.  During the training process he was quick and eager to learn. He advanced much faster then his peers from different breeders.  We are constantly amazed by his problem solving skills.

In our home and around our toddler Trigger's demeanor is calm and tranquil. Trigger naturally adjusts to his environment.  He is naturally tender and devoted around our toddler and other children, even when the kids accidentally pull on him.  He loves to cuddle on the couch with us,  curl up on our laps, watch movies, and cleans up spilled popcorn and treats.  He is first and foremost a family dog, and we spoil him with love.

In the outdoors, Trigger is full of stamina, efficiency, and intensity.  Trigger has pointed and retrieved EVERY species in North America. Less than 5 dogs in history have accomplished this!! Trigger is extraordinary in the hunting fields.  He has pointed and retrieved thousands of WILD game birds.  Species he has pointed including:  ring-necked pheasant, Gambel's quail, California quail, Montezuma quail, scaled quail, mountain quail, Northern bobwhite quail, white-tailed ptarmigan, willow ptarmigan, rock ptarmigan, greater sage-grouse, sharp-tailed grouse, ruffed grouse, dusky grouse, greater prairie-chicken, spruce grouse, American woodcock, sooty grouse, gray partridge (huns), and chukar partridge.

He is a big running Brittany, he ranges from 200-400 yards depending on the terrain and vegetation. His father is a Dual Champion, and Trigger exhibits the same intellect, aptitude, and tenacity as his infamous blood lines.

We joke that he has an On/Off switch.  He turns "it" on in the field and turns it off at home.  We love that about him. Trigger also has a part-time job finding game birds for the state wildlife agency, he even gets paid to do it!  He has been used on projects ranging from sharp-tailed grouse surveys to presence/absence studies on scaled quail.  His incredible abilities are in great demand.

Trigger is 20" tall and weighs 40 pounds.

Trigger is available for stud, please check out our Other Services page to find out more.

GROUSE GOLD TRIGGER'S SNIPER

Trigger's son, "Sniper" is a a true product of our breeding program. His mom is our loving Birdie. Sniper is a remarkable bird dog, just like his dad. I call him my "Trigger 2.0". He is an absolute natural at hunting, retrieve and bird finding. He is a big running brittany, out to 500 yards. We expect nothing but great things from him.

An Example of what a Strutting Grouse Brittany is capable of!
