​Our breeding philosophy
Brittanys & Boykins are amazing, beautiful, and intelligent dogs. Boykins are spaniels (flushing/retrieving dogs), Brittanys are NOT spaniels. Brittanys are pointing dogs (finding/pointing). Both are generally healthy breeds that often live 12-15 years. We want our puppies to go to loving, active families. Boykins & Brittanys are outstanding dogs for active families, especially runners or joggers, or families with large yards. They are very well behaved in your home, and able to keep up with you during any outdoor adventure. We don't recommend our line of dogs to families without large yards or an active lifestyle. Both Boykins & Brittanys require lots of exercise to be happy and healthy.
We are very selective in our breeding program. Our dogs are top of the line, and you will have many years of happiness with your Strutting Grouse Boykin or Brittany. Our puppies are a great deal considering the remarkable genetics the puppies have and the 10-15 years of loving loyalty you will get from your puppy.
We are looking for dogs that handle themselves very well in the house, but are also rough and tough for long days hunting upland game. We are looking for intelligent, trainable dogs with exceptional noses and bird finding capabilities. Our dogs meet all AKC standards, are registered with AKC (papered); in addition they have exceptionally tough feet. Hunting game birds all day takes tough footed dogs! Our puppies are very capable of being AKC field trial champions, Hunt trial champions, Agility trial champions, NSTRA champions, amazing hunting dogs, or an adorable dog for the active family.​

Our puppies have at least two wellness checkups at the vet before they go home. Once when they are a few days old and then again when they get their first round of vaccinations at 6 weeks old. The puppies are also dewormed at this time.

We are now taking reservations for our litter. Puppies were born May 1, they go home late June. Puppies are pure bred and papered (AKC)

Boykin Spaniels are remarkable dogs that make great pets for active families and are exceptional hunting dogs. They are around 15 inches tall and weigh 30 pounds.

The dam, Lola, is an incredibly intelligent and athletic dog and just a joy to have around. The sire, Hatchet, is mellow, steadfast and goes everywhere I do. Both parents are proven hunters.

We require a $250 deposit to hold a puppy. Puppy picks are awarded in the order that the deposits are received. Deposits go towards the purchase price of the puppies.

Unfortunately, we are not planning any Brittany litters in 2024.

Puppy Pickup:
We prefer to have you pick your puppy in person. This allows us to meet you; and you to meet us. This is the best overall experience for you and the least stressful on your new puppy. We are willing to meet you within a 1 hour drive of our home at no additional charge, which would include anywhere along I-15 from Lehi to Ogden, UT. We can meet you further than this at an additional charge, please contact us if you would like to take this option. If you come to our kennel, you will get to meet the parents of the puppy and see their disposition, personality and size. This can give you a good idea of what to expect when your new puppy is full grown. Puppies can go home anytime after their first round of vaccinations at 8 weeks old; we don't like to have the puppies go home earlier than 8 weeks.
If you live over a thousand miles away or just don’t have the time to drive out to Utah to get your puppy, flying your puppy is an option. We can ship puppies all over the USA. We use Delta or United airlines and ship our puppies out of Salt Lake City. Puppies that go home via airlines must be 8 weeks old and have a health certificate from a veterinarian. Shipping via airlines costs around $500 for flight, crate, health certificate and travel expenses. However, it is the most stressful for them and they usually take a day or two to recover from the flight. The benefits are that often we can find direct flights and your new puppy can arrive within hours.
